Bangkok, Thailand

I spent the majority of my latest journey overseas in Bangkok. At first glimpse it’s a chaotic, sweaty, bustling metropolis, but when the dust settles you begin to see what this city really has to offer. The colors, smells, culture, food, seedy neon nightlife, incomprehensible traffic; it’s all one big never ending party.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

In stark contrast to Bangkok lies Chiang Mai, a sleepy city in the mountains of Northern Thailand. Along with the lifestyle and culture, time seems to slow down up here. Check out my Chiang Mai video to see more.

Krabi, Thailand

Southern Thailand has it’s own unique personality compared to Bangkok and Northern Thailand. Flip flops, swim trunks, and a beer are all that’s required down here. Check out my Krabi video to see more.

Vietnam

There are no words to adequately illustrate the effect that Vietnam has had on me as a person. In February 2019 I had the most important and life changing experience of my life. My Air BnB host, Tuong (pictured below), invited me to spend time with his family in the Mekong Delta for the Vietnamese New Year (Tết). Check out my video of the experience.

Tet

The amount of preparation, decoration, and celebration that comes with the Vietnamese New Year is truly a one of a kind spectacle.

The Mekong Delta

We left at 4am from Ho Chi Minh City on a tiny moped. Six hours later we arrived in the small coastal province of Ben Tre. I spent a week communicating with locals using my own version of sign language, eating whatever was put in front of me, and going wherever I was dragged regardless of how early or how bad the rice wine hangover.

Is this still Earth?

I mean, come on… Like something out of a dream or a fairy tale, the countryside of Vietnam is hard to beat.

Hanoi, Vietnam

The “Old Quarter” of Hanoi is a chaotic little city in and of itself made up of narrow streets, each dedicated to selling a particular item. Whether it be silks, watches, electronics, coffee, food, or one of the many other random items, it’s sure to be an adventure in getting out alive.

The Philippines

I spent three weeks traveling the western islands of Coron and Palawan and one week in Manila. This was one of the most emotionally difficult journeys I’ve had in my life. I found myself taken back by the staggering beauty of the landscape, the oddly familiar culture of the Filipinos, and the obvious negative effect that humans have had on the natural world. Check out my Philippines video to see more.
